Intermediate Spotlight
Jesse Yu, a talented Music West, student, attends Torrey Pines High. She has studied flute with Ms. Bergova and now with Dr. Payne this fall.
Currently she performs advanced repertoire of Gilbert, Bach, and Hoffmiester. She will be competing at the Certificate of Merit Level 9, this spring. Excellent achievement Jesse!
Melanie Broussalian, a student of Dr. Payne for 3 years, age, is one of the 1st flutes in Mount Carmel High School Band.
In addition, she plays piano and is in the 7th level of Certificate of Merit. She has attended , Music West's Summer Flute Camps, and has played in the flute choir for several years.
Her repertoire includes Baroque sonatas by Handel, Veracini & Blavet, and French Romantic works by Gaubert, Faure and Modern repertoire by Bloch, Koechlin & Nielsen. Way to go Melanie!
