Dear Parents
Parents seem to do a thankless job when it comes to extracurricular activities for their children: driving here & there for lessons, seeing to instrument repair, attending concerts, supervising practice time, organizing schedules, etc.. We at Music West applaud and thank you.
Of course the many pay offs are great...positive social interactions through other students their age, a musical education, a plus for College resumes, musical memories that last a lifetime, & for some, a future professional career in the making.
Let's not forget the “Mozart Effect”, a term coined by Don Campbell. Children studying and listening to Classical music test smarter.
Music West is looking for volunteers to help with recital set up: making recital programs, setting up chairs, bringing treats for recital receptions, photocopying our Music West Flute Workbook for each of our enrolled students.
We need music stands and are buying an Alto flute for Flute Choir use. Please let us know if you have ideas to help purchase these much needed items!
